EVERY WEDNESDAY NITE, throughtout the year. Series will be broken in 10 race mini-series, each crowing a champ.

Fees $15. Profits benefit Amelia Earhart bike trail maintenance and expansion.
Come race and support the trails.

Race starts at 7:30 PM (plenty of time to come after work!) done by 8:30 PM.
Registration starts at 6:30 PM.

Cat 1-2: 45 min + 1 lap.
Cat 3 and Juniors: 30min + 1 lap.

Adequate bike lights are required to race.
BikeRay USA 1,500/1,300 lumens lights are available for rental- if you need them- for $10.

WHAT IS A DIRT CRIT?
Dirt Crit is the renegade, “street” name for “Short Track” race.
Think of a MTB Race with short (1 to 1.5 mi) laps that pass by the start/finish line several times (every 6 min). Very spectator friendly.
The race goes by TIME instead of distance: how many laps can you do in the given amount of time? First to cross the line after time expires (+ 1 lap, the “bell” lap) wins.
The course is approximately 50% single track (with varying degree of diffculty) and 50% jeep road.

The course doesn’t play into anyone’s strength: you have to be fit to go fast on the jeep trail, and must have technical skills to get through the single track.

It’s a strategy match on wheels to balance technical skills and fitness against your opponents. Drafting is allowed. Outside mechanical support is allowed. You can even drop one lap for a mechanical and rejoin the race where you left off!

Most of all, it’s the most fun you’ll have going so hard. And this will make you a better, fitter rider.

RACE COURSE:
START/FINISH: at Gate near key Biscayne benches – you will see the flood lights.

Trail exit to jeep road, turn Right at parking lot towards gate on jeep road.

TOT DISTANCE: 1.2 mi/lap

RACE FORMAT:
CAT 1-2: 45 min + 1 lap (fastest riders will complete 9 laps)
CAT 3 and Juniors: 30 min + 1 LAP (fastest riders will complete 6 laps)

POINTS:
Min 3 races to qualify for series awards.

3rd 20
4th 18
5th=20th: from 16 to 1 in 1 pt decrement

BONUS ROUNDS selected at “random” will add 5 or 10 pts.

REQUIREMENTS:
This is a USA Cycling Sanctioned Event. All rules apply as always.
Must have USA Cycling License or purchase a “Day License” for $10 to race (CAT2 and 3only). (This entitles you to insurance coverage).
